WORDS IN THE AIR

The first words I read written by Ocean Vuong were ‘Night Sky with Exit Wounds’. It was years ago now and I was on my commute into the city. Someone on the L train was reading his first book. I was immediately taken just with the title of this book and have enjoyed much of his language ever since.

Ocean speaks as beautifully as he writes, it flourishes and it stings. I would call this beyond an interview, it really is an education on the power of our words and the language we have a mouth in forming. It is particularly poignant, as I have several close friends that too were refugees from Vietnam destined for the United States.
